Meet Olivia Jin, a dynamic student at 51���� (IVC) with a clear vision for her future in business and entrepreneurship. Olivia is pursuing a major in business administration with a concentration in strategy consulting, driven by her passion to empower small businesses in the competitive marketplace through strategic business development and marketing.

A graduate of Crean Lutheran High School in Irvine, Olivia has set her sights on attending UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business, where she aims to further hone her skills and knowledge in business management.

Diego Moreno, a passionate student at 51���� (IVC), is on a  journey fueled by his love for history. After graduating from Northwood High  School, Diego's academic path has been guided by his unwavering  enthusiasm for the subject, which he cultivated during high school. 

As a history major 51����, Diego delved deep into his studies, driven by his innate curiosity and passion for the subject matter. His commitment to academia led him to excel in his classes, earning him recognition and respect among his peers and professors. 

On Friday, May 17, the 51���� (IVC) Foundation held  its 39th Annual Scholarship Celebration demonstrating a resounding display of generosity and commitment to student success. The Foundation awarded a total of $558,750 in scholarships, marking a significant increase of $30,450, or 6%, compared to last year's event. 

Alexander Belzer isn't just another promising student at 51���� (IVC) – he's  carving out his own niche in the music scene one note (and one scholarship) at a time. 

International sensation Dua Lipa captivated audiences during the opening act of the 2024  Grammy awards, emerging from inside a massive jungle-gym-like metal structure flanked by multiple black-clad dancers – including 51���� (IVC) graduate Kazuma Inoue.

“It was the most amazing thing I have ever experienced,” said Inoue, who received  technical dance training 51����, earning an associate of arts degree in dance. He continues to hone his skills here, taking hip hop, modern and ballet classes. 

Associated Students of IVC (ASIVC) President Diego Victoria has been named one of 60 community college recipients of the Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship. Victoria was one of the 459 semifinalists selected from a pool of more than 1,700 applicants from 380 community colleges nation-wide. This highly competitive award allows students to complete their undergraduate degrees at four-year institutions with minimal financial burden. 

Congratulations to Senior Foundation Development Specialist Karen Jimenez for being named IVC's 2024 Classified Employee of the Year at the Employee Recognition Ceremony on May 6. 

Congratulations to Senior Administrative Assistant Desiree Ortiz for being named this year’s Caring Campus Ambassador at the Employee Recognition Ceremony on May 6. 

Desiree has played a pivotal role in advancing the Caring Campus initiative both locally  and statewide. Starting with initiatives like "warm handoffs," Desiree was seamlessly involved in integrating Caring Campus principles into various college functions, from  hiring to classroom interactions. Her steadfast commitment led to the successful adoption of these principles throughout IVC and beyond.
