What are personal pronouns, how are they connected to the LGBTQIA+ community, and why do they matter? Pronouns are a part of speech (like nouns, adjectives, verbs, etc.), they are a word that replaces a noun in a sentence. In English, most of these are gender neutral (ex. I, me, we, you, they). However, some third person pronouns in English are gendered, notably βheβ and βsheβ, though singular gender neutral βtheyβ is also used.
