Veterans Services Center Unveils "Sound Off": Stories of Veterans and Military Dependents 51ÁÔÆæ

The Veterans Services Center officially unveiled the "Sound Off" comic book during the Veterans Day event on November 9. Sound Off is a photo-story blog and of veteran and military-connected students sharing stories from their life experiences. Faculty Tutor Max Evans served as editor for the project, and former IVC professor Nathan Cayanan created the comic book illustrations and served as artistic lead.

LeGal is a student-run undergraduate organization that specializes in women’s empowerment in the political and legal fields. Our objective is to bridge the inequality gap and diminish gender disparity for our members. We will provide opportunities to connect with law school representatives and women in the legal field.

From the Desk of The President

On November 10, the South Orange County Community College District will observe Veterans Day, a national holiday, recognizing veterans for their service and sacrifice. Although this designated day of remembrance is symbolic, it also serves as a reminder of the importance of finding ways to demonstrate our year-round commitment to our student veterans and to honor and recognize our employee veterans. 

IVC Speech Wins 27 Awards Across Four Forensics Tournaments

IVC Speech kicked off their competitive season by earning 27 awards across four forensics tournaments. 

The team made its return to competition at the PSCFA Warm Up Invitational on September 30th and October 1st. Seventeen colleges and universities participated in the two-day event hosted by El  Camino College. 

Advaith Thampi 51ÁÔÆæ Alum Named a 2023 California Community Colleges Distinguished Alumni

On October 27, the Community College League of California (League) announced its  selection of three outstanding California Community Colleges (CCC) alumni for the Distinguished Alumni  Award during its Annual Convention. Among the recipients, Advaith Thampi, a graduate of Irvine Valley  College (IVC), has been nominated by his peers and mentors to receive this prestigious recognition.
