Welcome to Wave by OCTA, the new account-based system that makes riding faster and easier. Follow the easy steps below to start riding! You’ll be able to use Wave on OC Bus and OC Streetcar. The new system will include a contactless reloadable smart card, new robust mobile app and a new account-based system.

Paper tickets are no longer sold onboard. Cash will still be accepted for payment, but please have exact change.

QUICK STEPS TO START RIDING
Follow these easy steps to start riding! 
Students must be currently enrolled at 51ÁÔÆæ in order to take advantage of the Community College Pass.

Download the Wave by OCTA mobile app from the Apple or Google Store.

  

  • Then create your virtual card.
  • You must use the same email address when creating your new Wave mobile account that you use when registering for your community college.

(one week before the spring semester begins).

  • SELECT Card Options âžž Institutions.
  • FIND your school in the list and select Link Institution.
  • RETURN to Card Options âžž Passes 
    The pass available through your school or employer will be displayed.
  • SELECT Order Now.
    A brief success message will confirm that the pass has been loaded to your account.
  • When waiting to board, have your Wave mobile app open with the QR code activated before boarding. To activate your QR code, press the icon at the bottom of the screen.
  • When you board, hold your mobile phone with the QR code visible directly under the onboard validator.
  • When the validator chimes and you receive a check mark, you are free to continue boarding.
