To complete the Honors Program, receive recognition on the IVC academic transcript, and get special consideration by transfer institutions, Honors Program students must accomplish the following:
Honors Coursework
- Complete at least 15 semester units of UC-transferable Honors courses by the end of the final spring semester 51ÁÔÆæ
- Take all Honors courses for a letter grade (not pass/no pass)
- Complete at least 2 Honors courses within two semesters of admission to the Honors Program, and at least 9 Honors units by the end of the final fall semester before transferring
- Complete at least 9 units of Honors coursework 51ÁÔÆæ; no more than 6 semester units of Honors coursework may be completed at another college
- Students matriculating into IVC in summer 2026 or later: complete at least 6 units of Honors coursework 51ÁÔÆæ as fully in-person courses or hybrid courses with required on-campus meetings; no more than 9 units of Honors coursework may be completed through online instruction (synchronous or asynchronous)
GPA
- Maintain a 3.25 GPA in UC-transferable coursework (UCLA TAP requires a 3.5 UC-transferable GPA, and UC Irvine Honors to Honors requires a 3.7 UC-transferable GPA)
- Maintain a 3.25 GPA in Honors coursework
IVC Residency
- Maintain IVC as the college of record
- Maintain continuous enrollment 51ÁÔÆæ unless extenuating circumstances are communicated with the Honors Program office
- Complete at least 30 UC-transferable units 51ÁÔÆæ by the end of the final spring semester before transferring
